Whether you are into fishing, duck hunting, bird watching, beachcombing, history, or just unwinding on the coast, we know you'll find what you're looking for in Sargent and our home is the perfect place to relax after a day of fun in the sun! We allow a maximum of 15 guests, though bedding (cots, sleeping bags, etc) will need to be brought for guests exceeding 12. There is plenty of room in the living area for several cots or air mattresses to be set up if you bring them. Our home sleeps 10 in beds (12 with one sleeping on each living room couch): Bedroom 1 - 1 King bed = Sleeps 2 Bedroom 2 - 1 Queen bed, 2 twin bunks = Sleeps 4 Bedroom 3 - 1 Queen bed, 2 twin bunks = Sleeps 4 Living Room - 2 Couches = Sleeps 2 TVs are provided in the living room and two bedrooms with Dish Network service, and a DVD player is available in the living room. The private fishing pier has 2 surface fishing lights, crab taps, covered cleaning table, live well and benches. A charcoal grill with ashcan, propane burner and large pot for crab boiling are available for your use outside on the downstairs covered patio. Sorry, this is NOT a pet friendly property. NO PETS ALLOWED. Items for you to bring include beach towels, fish towels, charcoal, large trash drum liners, coffee and coffee filters, laundry detergent, extra rolls of paper towels (1 is provided) and toilet paper (3 are provided).

We had a great time putting all the details into this home to make it feel luxurious yet calm and welcoming. The perfect retreat! We absolutely love the area and the people, true Texas hospitality in this small, peaceful town. Watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee or sunset with your favorite beverage is beautiful. Pull your boat up to the private dock or simply cast off our dock. Fishing and crabbing are great directly off the dock. The beach is only a few miles away, our kids enjoy hunting shells galore, playing in the waves/sand, soaking in the stunning views, and we enjoy great fishing, and a peaceful beach experience that is rarely crowded. Our home comes with everything you need for a successful vacation. It is fully stocked with towels, linens, kitchen ware, basic spices and small appliances. We have beds for 10 adults, or 10 adults and 1 child, with plenty of space to put air mattresses (not included). We have an oversized enclosed patio with a gate to keep young children safe and away from the water, as well as a baby gate if needed for inside the home. SARGENT AREA Sargent Beach is a short 3-mile drive, just across the bridge over the Intercoastal Waterway. Take a stroll on the beach, collect shells, or swim (at your own risk - no lifeguards) in the surf. Sargent is the best-kept secret on the Texas coast! If you have a boat, there are a few public ramps at Wahoo’s Marina, Charlie's Bait Camp, and the Crab Trap restaurant, all within 1.5 miles. By boat, Wahoo’s Marina is 1 mile away and offers ethanol-free fuel on the water (Or fuel up at Texaco before launching your boat to save a few bucks). Another mile or so down the creek is the Caney "Y", the Intracoastal Waterway, and Mitchell's Cut with access to the Gulf and excellent fishing, especially on incoming/outgoing tides. Local restaurants include The Crab Trap (our favorite - try the crab cakes, the death burger, or the grilled barramundi) on Caney Creek (with boat slips), Hookers Waterfront Grill (we love the fish tacos) next to the bridge (with boat slips), On the Corner Restaurant (ask for the Sargent Special for breakfast) on FM 457 just south of the Texaco, and two food trucks —Smokey Dan's BBQ and Flip Flop Paradise (try the Jasonnator if you’re really hungry!) — on FM 457. You can also get Hunt Brothers pizza, hamburgers, and similar food to go at the Sargent Country Store at the S-curve coming into town. Grocery shopping is available at Dollar General on FM 457 and convenience store items and beer/wine can be found at the Sargent Country Store and Texaco. The best liquor store in town is Senor Woods Liquor at the corner of FM 457 and FM 2611 just north of Sargent (you'll pass it coming into town). Don't miss the Sargent shopping area just south of FM 2611 on FM 457 that is only open on Saturdays to pick up some unique Sargent memorabilia, cigars, craft beers, and high end chocolate. For history buffs, there are several historical markers in the area with Civil War era information. The area between the Brazos River and Colorado River, which includes Caney Creek, was part of Stephen F. Austin's original land grant from Mexico where Texas began. History surrounds you here, and there are several museums within a 1-hour drive, or venture slightly further and visit the historic ghost town of Indianola, one of the largest ports in the south until the town was abandoned and engulfed by the sea following two devastating hurricanes and a couple disease outbreaks. We have multiple crab traps at the property for you to use and enjoy! You cant beat a crab boil at the beach!! The evenings are especially enjoyable watching the sunset and the dolphins swim by in the intracoastal while you relax on the luxurious patio furniture. There is a top-of-the-line propane grill and normal charcoal grill available for outdoor cooking. This amazing home offers three bedrooms and one full bath! One bedroom has 2 twin-sized bunk beds. The other bedroom has a full-sized bunk bed with a twin-sized trundle bed. The sleeper-sofa has a full-sized pullout bed. The third bedroom downstairs is called the Captains Quarters and includes 2 more twin bunk beds and a large couch that turns into a queen size bed! That is a total of 12 beds! All beds have sheets, pillows with pillow cases, and quilts. This home sleeps 10-12 guests. DirecTV is provided. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need; including refrigerator, stove, oven, dish washer, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, coffee machine, blender, glasses, and much more. in the down stairs storage room we have a full washer, dryer, and separate fridge for you to use and enjoy. There is also a small kids pool, beach toys, and boogie boards you may enjoy at the house or beach during your stay at Double Trouble. Located on Caney Creek, Kim’s cabin is minutes from Mitchell's cut, Matagorda Bay and The Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy great fishing and crabbing off the dock, day or night! This cozy cabin is located 5 minutes from the beach for surf fishing and beach combing. Enjoy relaxing with beautiful sunsets on the water, outdoor showers and an outdoor grill. The cabin is conveniently located ¼ mile between The Crab Trap Restaurant (best restaurant in Sargent) and Charlie's Bait camp/boat launch. This house has all new appliances, new flooring and a very large new deck! Stay cool with A/C units in every room and bedroom. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath plus a very large outdoor shower. One bedroom has 1 queen bed, second bedroom has one queen bed and one set of bunk beds, and the third bedroom has one set of bunk beds and the living room has sofa sleeper. Extra amenities include an outdoor fire pit for bon fires and green 1250 watt lights on the pier for night fishing! Sargent is very peaceful and quiet, especially our neighborhood. We do recommend our home for families, fishing and fun. However, parties are NOT allowed, and we'd recommend Sargent beachfront properties, not our neighborhood, for large gatherings and loud music.
